How Many Heartbeats Do You Have?

An interesting thought was offered to me the other day- not revolutionary, but merely something I’d never thought of before.  And it seems appropriate to write about, since the Day of pink, red, roses, and hearts EVERYWHERE is coming up….(that’s Valentine’s Day, if I wasn’t clear enough) 😉

The thought was “Your heart only has so many heartbeats”.  Have you ever thought of that?  Yes it’s a TON of heartbeats, probably millions and billions, but eventually you run out.  Note: this is not meant to be disHEARTening(haha, see what I did there), it just sounds like it right now.  Keep reading!

When I heard that, I started thinking-   What is my heart beating for?  How am I spending my heartbeats?  Who am I sharing them with?  Are they being used wisely?  Because you know, I only have so many to use….

God gives us as many heartbeats as we need to accomplish His purpose for us, and touch other lives(and their heartbeats). 🙂  In return, we have people in our lives that make our heartbeats special(they might even make our hearts beat faster!  But that actually isn’t so good in this context….you’ll run out faster).

So this upcoming lovey-dovey day, consider how you are spending your heartbeats, and who you are spending them with.
